Welcome to Baja California Sur!

Upon arrival at Los Cabos International Airport, you'll meet your guides and transfer approximately 2.5 hours north to the coastal city of La Paz. After settling into Hotel Catedral, take time to relax before joining your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner and trip briefing.

This evening is the perfect introduction to Baja's laid-back atmosphere and the adventures ahead.

Overnight: Hotel Catedral, La Paz

After breakfast, you'll be fitted with snorkeling gear and wetsuits before boarding boats bound for Isla Espíritu Santo.

Part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and protected National Marine Park, Isla Espíritu Santo is one of the world's premier marine wildlife destinations. The surrounding waters are home to whales, dolphins, whale sharks, sea turtles, manta rays, and countless tropical fish species. The island itself features dramatic volcanic cliffs, secluded beaches, fascinating rock formations, and ancient indigenous rock art.

Over the coming days, you'll enjoy a flexible schedule filled with activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, paddleboarding, hiking, birdwatching, swimming with sea lions, and exploring hidden coves and desert beaches.

Overnight: Camp Cecil de la Isla

Wake up surrounded by the stunning scenery of Isla Espíritu Santo and spend another day enjoying the island's natural wonders.

Today's adventures may include paddleboarding alongside sea turtles, snorkeling among colorful reef fish, swimming with sea lions, whale watching, or observing the island's famous Blue-footed Boobies and other seabirds. Whatever activities the day brings, you'll be rewarded with incredible scenery, excellent food, and unforgettable wildlife encounters.

Overnight: Camp Cecil de la Isla

Enjoy another full day in paradise as you continue exploring the pristine waters and rugged coastlines of Isla Espíritu Santo.

Kayak beneath towering cliffs, snorkel vibrant marine habitats, relax on remote beaches, or simply soak in the extraordinary beauty of this protected island environment. The flexibility of the camp allows your guides to tailor activities to weather conditions and wildlife sightings.

Overnight: Camp Cecil de la Isla

Today features one of Baja's most exciting wildlife experiences: swimming with whale sharks.

Despite their enormous size—reaching up to 59 feet in length and weighing as much as 15 tons—whale sharks are gentle filter feeders that consume plankton and pose no threat to humans. Swimming alongside these magnificent creatures is a truly unforgettable experience.

Later in the day, return to La Paz and check back into Hotel Catedral. This evening, celebrate your island adventure with a special dinner at a local restaurant.

Leave the coast behind as you travel into the mountains of the Sierra La Laguna Biosphere Reserve and arrive at Camp Cecil de la Sierra.

Located on a working ranch, this luxury tented camp offers a unique blend of comfort, nature, and cultural immersion. The ranch family plays an important role in the experience, providing many of the camp's ingredients and sharing traditional skills such as tortilla making and leather working.

The reserve is one of Baja's most biologically diverse regions, with many plant and animal species found nowhere else on Earth. Activities include hiking, swimming in natural pools, birdwatching, and enjoying the tranquility of this remarkable mountain environment.

Overnight: Camp Cecil de la Sierra

Begin the day with early morning birdwatching and a hearty ranch breakfast before setting out on a guided hike through the Sierra La Laguna mountains.

Take in sweeping views of the surrounding landscape before cooling off in a mountain pool. Later, participate in traditional ranch workshops such as leather working or tortilla making and learn about the local culture and way of life.

As evening falls, enjoy happy hour, a delicious ranch-style dinner, and some of the finest stargazing in Baja beneath clear mountain skies.

After breakfast, bid farewell to Baja California Sur and transfer to the airport for your onward journey.

Though the trip may be ending, the memories of whale sharks, sea lions, remote beaches, mountain landscapes, and extraordinary wildlife will stay with you long after you return home.
