Tentative Itinerary

This popular tour takes place in Guangxi Province, home to China’s most scenic vistas—terraced mountains, dramatic karst peaks, ancient river towns, and vibrant minority cultures.

We begin in the north of Guilin at the Longji (Dragon’s Backbone) Rice Terraces, an irrigated marvel over 400 years old and home to the Zhuang, Miao, and Yao peoples. After hiking the terraces and visiting nearby villages, we cycle south through peaceful rural landscapes, passing bamboo-lined rivers, markets, and villages. A traditional tea tasting and ceremony marks our transition into the surreal karst mountain region.

We explore the famous Li River by bike and boat, visiting the river towns of Daxu and Xing Ping and marveling at UNESCO-listed limestone peaks. Local ferries help us crisscross the river before continuing to the Yulong River Valley, where we stay in Jiuxian Ancient Village after a tranquil bamboo raft ride.

Our final ride winds through the scenic Yulong Valley, past Moon Hill and stunning countryside. We end in Yangshuo, a lively town where we’ll enjoy the Liu San Jie sound and light show, a hands-on cooking class, and free time to relax or shop.
This tour suits riders with a moderate fitness level. Hills offer rewarding views, and a support van or optional e-bike is available.

Some pre-trip training is recommended to fully enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
