August 30

Your journey begins in Passau, famously known as the “Three River City,” where the Danube, Inn, and Ilz rivers converge. Take some time to explore Passau’s charming Old Town and visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral (Stephansdom), home to the world’s largest church organ — a must-see for music and architecture enthusiasts.

Embarkation: Begins around 4:00 PM
Departure: Approximately 7:00 PM

Settle in for your first dinner on board as you sail toward Engelhartszell, enjoying scenic river views along the way.

Day 3

Engelhartszell – Great Loop – Aschach – Vienna-Nussdorf

Distance: Approx. 40–43 km
Start your day in Engelhartszell, home to Austria’s only Trappist monastery. From here, your cycling route follows the serene path of the Great Loop (Schlögener Schlinge) — a stunning and unspoiled stretch of the Danube surrounded by lush forests and charming riverside villages.
Along the way, discover cozy taverns perfect for a relaxing break before reaching Aschach, where you’ll rejoin your ship.

Evening Departure: Set sail into the night toward Vienna-Nussdorf, preparing for your next adventure in Austria’s vibrant capital.

Day 4: Vienna-Nussdorf (Rest Day or Leisure Cycling)

Spend the day exploring Vienna’s rich cultural landmarks. Don’t miss iconic sites like St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the Hofburg Palace, and the grand Ringstraße boulevard, lined with architectural gems such as the Burgtheater, the State Opera House, and Vienna’s impressive Town Hall.

Evening Departure: Sail overnight toward Budapest.

Day 5: Budapest (Rest Day or Cycling to Szentendre)

Distance: Approx. 48 km

Wake up to breathtaking views of Budapest’s skyline from the sun deck as you cruise into the city. With many iconic landmarks lining the Danube’s banks, the arrival alone is a highlight.

Spend your afternoon exploring Budapest’s vibrant streets, or opt for a scenic bike ride to Szentendre, a charming town known for its Mediterranean vibe and thriving arts scene.

Evening Departure: Sail overnight to Visegrád.

Day 6: Danube Bend | Visegrád – Vác – Visegrád

Distance: Approx. 36 km

The Danube bend is definitely a delightful part and is called the Hungarian Wachau. Today’s bike leg starts at Visegrad with its famous fortress and the ruins of the former palace. You cycle through the picturesque countryside via the Szentendre Peninsula to the baroque village of Vác, which has been influenced by the architects of the Austrian empress Maria Theresia. Via small Hungarian villages you return to Visegrad.

Afternoon Departure: Continue your journey toward Bratislava.

Day 7: Bratislava (Rest Day or Leisure Cycling)

Arrival at Bratislava in the morning. Today discover the small lively capital of Slovakia.

Tip: Enjoy a magnificent panoramic view from the castle and take a ride on a mini train through the enchanting old town. Alternatively, explore the city´s surroundings along the Danube during a guided bike tour.

Evening Departure: Sail overnight to Rossatz or Dürnstein in the scenic Wachau Valley.

Day 8: Wachau – Melk – Pöchlarn

Distance: Approx. 40–50 km

Your last biking day is a special highlight! Amidst small dreamy villages, apricot trees, vineyards, castles, monasteries and ruins, this gentle hilly landscape enchants everybody. A powerful ruin looms above the small Baroque town of Dürnstein, while the blue tower of the monastery church is a landmark of Wachau. In the small village of Pöchlarn you will board again.

Evening Highlight: Enjoy a festive farewell gala dinner as you sail back toward Passau.

Day 9: Departure from Passau

Every journey draws to an end. Once again you enjoy on deck the first sunbeams and the peaceful silence of the Danube Valley. Take a last sight at the Schlögener Schlinge (“Great Loop”) before you arrive relaxed at Passau.
