Cape Town, Victoria Falls & Chobe National Park

September 24 – October 4, 2026 | Itinerary

Day 1: Wednesday, 24 September – Arrive in Cape Town

Your journey begins in Cape Town, one of the world’s most beautiful cities. After arriving at Cape Town International Airport, you’ll be met and transferred to The Hyde All‑Suite Hotel in Sea Point. This contemporary boutique hotel is ideally located near the Sea Point Promenade, offering elegant suites and a relaxing rooftop ambiance. Use the afternoon to settle in, stretch your legs with a walk along the promenade, or enjoy a drink on the rooftop deck while watching the sunset over the Atlantic. Dinner is at your leisure — perhaps opt for a relaxed meal nearby as you begin to acclimate and settle into rhythm.

If your arrival time allows, you might take a gentle stroll to the nearby V&A Waterfront for a first taste of Cape Town’s harbourfront ambiance — the mix of sea breezes, city lights, and the buzz of shops and restaurants can be a great way to gently ease into your travel pace. This soft start gives you a chance to rest from your journey while gently stepping into the culture and energy of the city.

Included: Arrival Airport Transfer, Dinner at Jack@ Skye Rooftop Bar – 3-course meal

Excluded: Beverages for your own account

Day 2: Thursday, 25 September – Table Mountain & City Tour

Our drive to the city centre takes us past famous landmarks such as the Castle of Good Hope, built in 1666 by the Dutch East India Company and City Hall, a baroque building and the Grand Parade. As we follow the city’s main thoroughfare, Adderley Street, we will see St. George’s Cathedral, the Anglican Diocese of Nobel Peace Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

We will pass the Company Gardens and the Malay Quarter [also known as the Bo-Kaap], which means “Above Cape ” because of its location up against the slopes of Table Mountain.  In the early 18th century, thousands of slaves from Java, Ceylon and other Far Eastern regions were brought to Cape Town.  After slavery was abolished, their descendants, known as the Cape Malays, settled here.

Continue to join a sparkling tour and witness the art of diamond cutting and the careful craftsmanship of jewellery manufacturing by skilled experts. Discover the history of the Diamond and Gold Trade in South Africa.

You will be offered the option of continuing to Table Mountain, where you can ascend to the top [weather permitting] by the revolving cable car.  Here, you’ll see wildflowers and the famous silver tree and marvel at a birds-eye view of the city and its beaches.  On a clear day, it is even possible to see Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned on one side and Cape Point on the other.  Return to the hotel around 5:00 – 5:30.

Included: Breakfast, Malay Quarter, Table Mountain, drive past the Parliament Buildings, City Hall, Slave Lodge & Company Gardens, a visit to a Diamond Cutter, Visit to the Castle of Good Hope (time permitting).

Please note: It’s recommended that you pre-buy your Table Mountain cable car tickets online prior to the commencement of the tour in order to avoid potential queues at the cable car station on the day of the tour. https://www.tablemountain.net/plan-your-visit/buy-tickets

Excluded: Cable Car Ticket, Lunch and Dinner

Day 3: Friday, 26 September – Cape Peninsula & Penguin Beach

The whole group will be collected for a private Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour. Please bring your camera; we’re headed for Cape Point at the southwestern tip of the Cape Peninsula and the most spectacular views in the world.  The drive there is just as inspiring, passing steep mountains, secluded coves, sweeping beaches, villages, and fishing communities.

Our tour begins with a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through the cosmopolitan suburb of Sea Point and Camps Bay with its glorious views of the Twelve Apostles, part of the Table Mountain range.  We’ll continue to the fishing village of Hout Bay, one of Cape Town’s best-kept secrets.

There is an option to take a short boat trip to Duiker Island (for your own account and time permitting) to view the Cape Fur Seals, which inhabit the island. From here, we travel to the Cape Point Nature Reserve, comprising over 17,300 acres of indigenous fauna and flora. Here we can see a variety of wildlife, including baboons, Reebok, Cape Mountain zebra, bontebok and the elusive eland. The reserve is also one of the world’s largest breeding grounds for tortoises. Bird-watchers, too, will find many fine species to observe. The majestic coastline offers drama worthy of being called “Nature’s Greatest Show.” We’ll be able to see the union of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans (as per legend) and may even feel the brisk wind that is dubbed the “Cape Doctor” for its presumed curative powers. Following the coastline along False Bay, we’ll return to Cape Town by way of Simon’s Town, where we will visit the Penguin colony at Boulders Beach (entrance fee included) and Fish Hoek fishing village. We return to Cape Town, passing the University of Cape Town, Rhodes Memorial, and the Groote Schuur Hospital. Return to hotel around 5:00.

Includes Chapmans Peak Drive (if open), entrance to Cape Point Nature Reserve, Cape of Good Hope, Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach (entrance fee included).

Included: Breakfast, Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour as stated. Excluded: Lunch, Seal Island boat cruise – currently R140.00 per person.

Day 4: Saturday, 27 September – Robben Island & Waterfront Leisure

The whole group will be collected for a private Full Day Winelands Tour. While South Africa’s fertile valleys are world-famous for their crisp white and classic French-style red wines, the area is also a treasury of rustic beauty and sprawling estates shaded by giant oak trees. Our drive today will include the country’s principal wine routes of Paarl, Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, with a stop en route for lunch (included – beverages for your own account).

Our day starts with a visit to Paarl, where the beauty of the Valley will strike you, the pristine blue sky, the rolling vineyards, and the Pearl of Paarl set high above the valley. Paarl made headlines when President Mandela was released from the Groot Drakenstein prison (ex Victor Verster), on the outskirts of the town, to freedom and the start of the new South Africa.

We enjoy a wine-tasting and cellar tour at one of the local estates. From Paarl, we’ll continue northwest to the beautiful village of Franschhoek, near the Drakenstein Mountains, founded in 1688 by French immigrants fleeing the Huguenot religious persecution in Europe. A memorial in the town commemorates the arrival of these early settlers who helped develop the wines sought after by Napoleon, Bismarck and royalty such as Edward VII, the Prince of Wales. Here we will stop for lunch (beverages for your own account) and another wine tasting at a vineyard.

We’ll then head to Stellenbosch, the second oldest town in South Africa and the historic heart of the country’s wine region. In 1679, Dutch East India Company governor Simon van der Stel recognised the fertility of this long valley on the banks of the Eerste River as perfect for vineyards. The rest is history, which has been carefully cultivated in this town.

A gracious blend of 18th-century Cape Dutch, Georgian and Victorian buildings is evident on Dorp Street, where massive oaks still shade original water furrows. Enjoy a final wine tasting before returning to Cape Town.

Return to hotel around 5:00 – dinner and evening at your leisure.

Includes traveling through historic wine-making towns of Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, 3 wine tastings, and 1 cellar tour, set menu lunch (beverages for own account).

Included: Breakfast, Lunch – set menu, Full Day Winelands Tour as stated.

Excluded: Dinner, Beverages at lunch.

Day 6: Monday, 29 September – Kirstenbosch & Cultural Options

This morning, after breakfast, you will be collected and depart from Cape Town for an African Safari. After a mid-morning departure, we head up the N1 Highway, through the spectacular Hex River Valley and arrive at the Aquila Private Game Reserve. The bio-diverse habitat of the reserve ensures plenty of interest for the avid game viewer and birder. Giraffe, Blesbok, Black and Blue Wildebeest, Zebra, Springbok, Gemsbok Klipspringers, Duiker, Grey buck, Steenbok, Ostriches, Baboons Caracal, Foxes, Jackal, Leopard and 172 species of birds, including the Black Eagle are found on the reserve. An experienced Game Ranger will take you on a Game Drive. Lunch is enjoyed at the Lodge.

Includes lunch and open vehicle game drive. Return to the hotel around 6:00 – 6:30. Dinner this evening is for your own account – restaurant recommendations on request.

Included: Breakfast and Lunch, African Day Safari as stated.

Excluded: Beverages and bar accounts, Dinner. Expert Tips: This day is not a private service for the group, but rather the scheduled Day Tour as on offer.

Day 7: Tuesday, 30 September – Leisure Day in Cape Town

On your final full day in Cape Town, you have the freedom to revisit favorite spots or explore new ones at your own pace. You could head to the beaches of Clifton Beach or Camps Bay for morning sun and sea, stroll through local markets, revisit museums, or even take a side‑trip into the surrounding countryside. Alternatively, you might simply enjoy the comforts of your hotel, reflect on the week’s experiences, or prepare for your next destination.

This unstructured day gives you a chance to absorb Cape Town’s vibe fully — be it relaxed, contemplative, social, or adventurous — and depart with a sense of your own pace and choices. It’s a soft landing before the next leg of your journey.

Day 8: Wednesday, 1 October – Fly to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

After breakfast and checkout formalities, you will be collected and transferred to Cape Town Airport for your onward flight to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Airlink flight 4Z390 departs at 9:45 and arrives at 12:40 – check-in is 2 hours prior to departure.

On arrival at Victoria Falls Airport, proceed through immigration and baggage claim. Your driver will then transfer to your lodge for the next few nights.

You have time to check in and settle into your new environment before you are collected at 4:15 and transferred to the jetty for your Sunset Dinner Cruise (dinner, river usage fee, and return transfers included). As the sun begins its descent, step on board our floating restaurant for an exceptional evening on the Zambezi River. The exquisite bird, after which it was named “Malachite,” is one of the Zambezi River’s crowning gems.

Powered by two 60HP four-stroke marine motors, this beautifully crafted double-deck vessel silently slices across the surface of the river. On the upper deck, guests are offered a glass of sparkling wine to sip as they settle into the plush cushioned furniture and relax before the journey along the Zambezi River begins, all the while looking out for the various birdlife and animals there are to be seen and then watching as one of Africa’s famous sunsets erupts in the sky. A barman and three intuitive waiters anticipate guests’ needs, serving a selection of lively cocktails and imported premium spirits throughout their journey.

After the sun has sunk below the river line, dinner is served on the lower deck of the vessel, exemplifying the hallmarks of exquisite cuisine prepared on board by two Chefs. The rich aroma of locally sourced, fresh ingredients wafts around diners as the dishes are plated. Time seems to stand still as the boat gently glides along to the sound of water lapping up against her sides. Far removed from the glare of city lights and noise, the moon and stars shine brightly in the sky, and an atmosphere of mystery and romance envelopes the evening’s experience. A captain completes the crew, and their combined experience promises an insightful and memorable evening. Transfer back to hotel: 8:15 – 8:30.

NB: Visa requirements apply for USA Passport Holders arriving in Zimbabwe, either via Evisa or on arrival.

Included: Breakfast, Airport Transfers, Internal economy class flight as stated, Sunset Dinner Cruise.
